No Imports of Bees

Isle of Man law prohibits the Importation of Bees

The importation of any equipment that may have been exposed to bee diseases, is also prohibited. In other words, the importation into the Isle of Man of any equipment previously used with bees or in the production of honey is prohibited.

The penalty for breaking the law is £10,000

The Reason:  We do not have the Varroa mite on the Island. Neither do we have to treat for the majority of Bee Diseases.

Therefore: Our locally produced honey is free from many of the chemicals found in produce from elsewhere.

Do not feed ANY honey to bees of any kind as 49% of all imported honey contains disease spores.
